Friday 4th July - walk **** – Hemley circuit with Maeva – sunny.

It was sods law that it was sunny and breezy today but Friday is our Maeva day and she is such a joy to be with at the moment that I would rather spend the day with her, they grow up so quick so our days with her are so precious:) I had time to do my exercises in the garden before Mag drove round to pick Maeva up, after some giggles with the push along duck Mag made some yummy cheese scones, she is not overly keen on the food processor, it’s a tad noisy! Then I packed a quick picnic, mainly the scones fresh out of the oven and I wanted to get away from the coast so we drove over to Hemley, parking by the church for our lunch while watching a couple of tractors setting up a watering system for their potatoes! We were going to drive back to Newbourne Springs for a walk but decided to walk here, we took the buggy and the push along duck over to the church first then headed down towards the Deben stopping to say hello to a couple of horses, one was particularly friendly and came over for a stroke! Thankfully the muddy section was dry today and we made the small detour down to the banks of the River Deben and frightened off a large family of Shell ducks, it was pretty breezy here and Maeva had to use both hands to keep her hat on! We sat on a small upturned boat for ages taking in the lovely scenery, a couple of oyster catchers were feeding in the mud and there were some cool clouds whizzing past! We then decided to do the circuit and as the path was too narrow for the buggy, she walked a little, rode on my shoulders for awhile and Mag carried her until we reached the seawall where she could be put in the buggy but she was not happy about that and really needed her dummy! Still we made it back to the van for a quick biscuit and drink before setting off for home and Maeva was soon fast asleep! Mag then took her home while I sent a few pics to the TV weather but I was a little late and with so dreadful tennis and football it’s a waste of time sending them in at the moment! Another top Friday with Maeva!

PS - I forgot, we spotted a seal in the Deben, always good.
